Day 5 & 6 Lara wetlands

A morning cycle at Barcaldine to check out the lagoon & township, then South to the Lara
wetlands. We managed to clean up a wallaby on the way there, no damage to us, could not
say the same about the wallaby. The red dirt road was pretty good, with only minor
corrigations. Hot springs were great to soak in, a very pleasant place to spend a couple of
days in. No internet or phone here, so I am compiling this off line & will upload at
Longreach on Tuesday if possible. A bit of a camp party coming up tonight, complete with a
guitarist. We will grab a couple of beers & a couple of chairs & see how it goes. I got up
during the night for an outside nature break & the sky was absolute crystal, it felt as though
we were up among the stars in a spaceship. I guess thats the advantage of being a great
distance from any light source.Off to longreach tomorrow...

Barcaldine free camp, preparing for a cycle tour of town.
