We are now at 80 mile beach around 400k south of Broome. We are pretty much in the middle of nowhere yet we have power, phone, internet & TV all sattellite relayed through this caravan park who also generate their own power. We free camped last night & after a super hot afternoon we had a lovely cool night. Here we are able to use our A/C.
Another really hot day, heading south from Broome, we found a tree to brew up under for morning tea.
The mandatory road shot, really good road at the moment.
See the smile, thats because we were able to have a post sunset dinner on a concrete slab with no red dust. This was just a roadside free camp after a really hot afternoon, there must have been a building here at some time. Anyway it was luxury to have no red dust.
80 mile beach had lots of fisherman but no swimmers as the sharks were here in big numbers within 10 feet of the shoreline, also many stingrays & jellyfish stingers also we were told, the occasional croc passing by. Pity because it looked so inviting.
Pano tide IN.
Pano tide OUT.
At the high tide mark the shells were prolific. Yvonne spent some time collecting interesting ones.
A large dead stingray on the beach.
This is a Jeep that got bogged several months ago. Because of the massive tides here, the tide goes out well over a kilometre & this guy was dumb enough to drive about 500 metres out. No one was willing to come this far out to pull him out as they would have gone the same way. When you are bogged this bad I don't think anyone can tow you out.
I walked out to the waters edge at low tide & took this photo back towards the shoreline.
80 mile beach sunset. See how angelic Yvonne is, she actually has a halo.
Sunset drinks.
I took this just after the sun set. I think it looks cool.
Final pictograph of the day.
