Today we took a cruise to Freemantle where we went to the maritime museum & the prison & that chewed up the whole day
We found this time machine on the dock at Elizabeth Quay. Yvonne is standing in 1841.
The weird walking bridge, viewed through the time machine portal.
The bell tower where you can pay to pull on the ropes & ring the bell. Lots of construction is going on around it.
A mother duck & chicks on the marina skimmer.
The inside of the very colourful boat.
The old Swan brewery.
Royal Perth Yacht Club.
This house sold for 57 million a couple of years ago.
Some cliffs where there are quite a few stolen cars submerged.
Freemantle harbour, where the good ship Begonia passed through in 1957, on its way to Melbourne, according to my research.
My family will know the significance of that.
A sailing ship.
The Oberon class submarine, 'Ovens'. I spent 2 hours inside touring its intricacies with a former crew member who had heaps of really great stories. This was the highlight of my day.
The forward torpedo room.
Part of the crew accomodation.
Its very busy in here. The boat is very big outside, but very crowded inside.
The drivers seat.
Where the action happens.
Engine room.
Part of the electrical room.
Australia II, which won the Americas cup in 1982.
Some bloke used this boat to do a triple, non stop, solo circumnavigation of the world.
A flying pearl diver.
The top deck of Australia II. They look a little stunned.
An overhead view of Australia II.
Stuff hanging from the roof.
The camo canoe is actually a submersible military canoe/submarine ??
Freemantle jail.
Bird in jail.
Inside the jail.
Jail kitchen.
Jail.
Jail.
Jarrah roof in the jail chapel.
The picture shows the aftermath of the riot & fire organised by Brendon Abott, the post card bandit.
The gallows where 133 people have been hanged. 44 in modern times, the last in 1964. The remainder were convicts in the previous century. Its still the original beam where they all dangled.
Yvonne earned her release.
Down town Freemantle.
We used public transport a lot. The reason I took this pic is to show there is no gafiti anywhere or scratches over the windows. In Brisbane every window is bottle top scratched & grafiti is everywhere, why?
A duck who came for dinner tonight.

Pictures painted on the walls by an inmate.
